Hello November...

Updated: Nov 8, 2019

With shorter days and colder evenings autumn is falling into winter...

Hello November, you are as always a cool friend. Cosy evenings at home, having friends around or curled up relaxing and making the most of this time of year...

A favourite at home is my special Chai latte, and it is even easier with "The Botanical Nomad".

Masala Chai, blended with Rooibos tea, makes a beautiful aromatic chai, caffeine free and full of anti-oxidants and goodness..

Today we have so many interesting choices in milk and milk blends! I recently discovered Oat Milk, it has a subtle nutty taste and pairs perfectly with this recipe. The kids still prefer their coconut milk chai. It really is a personal taste and always fun to experiment with new ingredients and flavours. I try and make it more nutritious, and do this with the ingredients I add. Sweetening your Chai with honey is an great way to get more of this wonder of nature into your diet, or using dark sugar. Any sweetener will do!

Making this Chai latte is as easy as knowing how many cups of tea you want to make! Put your choice of milk in a suitable pot, heat and add one bag of Red Chai per serving, simply simmer for a few minutes or to taste. Rooibos tea is better if steeped for at least 5 minutes, to get the most benefit from this herbal tea. Do not scald the milk by boiling or rushing this process, it really is worth the wait. Sweeten to taste, and for a treat a touch of cream has never done any harm on a cold winter night! A light dusting of cinnamon to show your love, et voila! Made in Heaven.
